During the first stage of the project (2003-2006), a value chain was established for organic cotton as a leading crop. To maintain the stability of the value chain, during the second phase of the project (2007-2011), a local structure was set up in the form of Public Union of Bio Farmer and Public Fund Bio Service. Today, Public Union Bio Farmer is reformed into an Agricultural Commodity-Service Cooperative ‘Bio Farmer’ and includes over 1,200 members, farming over 2,500 hectares. The Cooperative is also working on developing new value chains for such products as medicinal and aromatic plants and beans. In addition to organic certificates, the Cooperative also has a Fairtrade certificate, which was received for cotton in 2008. Public Fund Bio Service offers professional services, including training, certification and marketing of organic products. Bio Service also develops new initiatives for the introduction of organic business initiatives.
During the third phase (2012-2016) the project will support the emerging organic sector by attracting more players to join the movement, supporting local market development and contributing to a more conducive environment.

Over subsequent years, the production of organic cotton has been steadily increased to the point where 366 Tonnes were exported successfully to Europe in 2012.
By 2012, both Bio Farmer and Bio Service had developed professional business plans, which they are now implementing, and which predict financial breakevens for both organizations in 2015.
The project has developed an effective internal control system, which insures testing of organic cotton and compliance with international standards.
